he main objective of the Master’s Degree in Telecommunications Engineering is to train professionals who are able to practice the profession of Telecommunications Engineer. This Master is aimed at advanced training and entry into the job market, and is a natural progression from the Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunications Technology Engineering and in Audiovisual Telecommunications Systems, which is also taught at the Polytechnic School of Cuenca and which prepares future graduates for the profession of Technical Telecommunications Engineer. University Master’s Degree in Telecommunications Engineering

Official qualification of 72 ECTS credits which qualifies its holders to practice the profession of Telecommunications Engineer.

It comprises the following modules:

- Proyect Management and Supervision

This Master’s Degree programme qualifies graduates to practice the profession of Telecommunications Engineer by virtue of the provisions of Royal Decree 1393/2007 of 29 October and of Ministerial Order CIN/355/2009, which define the regulatory framework that establishes the requirements for the verification of official university degrees which qualify their holders to practice the profession of Telecommunications Engineer. Therefore, holders of this Master’s degree can expect to find employment in telecommunication service companies, telecommunications consultants, software companies, technology and telecommunications companies, security companies, all kinds of public and private entities (financial, industrial, governmental, etc.) and, in general, any company or organisation requiring the use of ICT.

Therefore, the Master’s Degree in Telecommunications Engineering generally aims to provide suitable training based on a European profile in the theoretical and technical foundations and the technologies inherent to the telecoms sector, within a framework focused on the capacity for ongoing improvement and knowledge transmission.

Ministerial Order CIN/355/2009, of 9 February (Official State Gazette no. 44 of 20 February 2009) establishes the following competences as objectives to be achieved by students:

1. Capacity to draft, calculate and design products, processes and facilities in all areas of Telecommunications Engineering.

2. Capacity to lead telecommunications systems works and installations, complying with legislation in force, ensuring top quality service.

3. Capacity to lead, plan and supervise multidisciplinary teams.

4. Capacity to perform mathematical modelling, calculations and simulation in company technology and engineering centres, particularly in relation to research, development and innovation tasks in all areas related to telecommunications engineering and similar multidisciplinary fields.

5. Capacity to draw up, strategically plan, lead, coordinate and manage the technical and economic aspects of projects in all areas of Telecommunications Engineering, meeting quality control and environmental criteria.

6. Capacity to commission, lead and manage telecommunication and electronic equipment manufacture processes, ensuring the safety of individuals and equipment, the final quality of the products and their standardisation.
