Ciudad Real hosted the celebration of The European Researchers' Night from the University of Castilla-La Mancha last Friday, September 26. More than fifteen hundred attendees actively participated in this event, which aimed to bring science closer to society through the dissemination of the different research projects developed at the academic institution.
Visitors could enjoy workshops and demonstrations on Floods: myths and realities, Formula Student Project, Mathematics against cancer, Particles in your life, From the lab to real life. How to use hydrogels in soft robotics, Health Detectives, European Night of Volcanoes, We talk science so you don't worry too much, Research and applications in nanomagnetism, What's happening in the sky?, Ingenious Women and Materland; and Get to know IREC (Research Institute of Hunting Resources).
Furthermore, within the framework of this European celebration, the European Night of Volcanoes and an Astronomy day also took place.
The initiative is part of the project G9-SCIENCE4ALL, framed within the Horizon Europe program: Framework Program for Research and Innovation, under grant agreement no. 101162477.
The Jardines del Prado became a great meeting space between science and citizens, where families and curious individuals could learn firsthand about the advances and experiments that UCLM researchers develop in their laboratories and faculties. The massive participation from Ciudad Real confirmed the interest in science and the importance of this type of meeting, which allows the relevance of research and its direct impact on daily life and future challenges to be conveyed to society.
