The event featured participation from the IER by professors Emilio Gómez Lázaro, director of this institute, and Raquel Villena Ruiz, both affiliated with the Higher Technical School of Industrial Engineering of Albacete. Researcher Javier Jiménez Ruiz also participated in the event.

The Chinese delegation included technical directors, business directors, and engineers from companies such as Goldwind Science & Technology Co., Ltd., currently the world’s leading wind turbine manufacturer, and CRRC Yongji Electric Co., Ltd., a manufacturer of machinery and electrical equipment. Representatives from research centers, such as the Huaneng Clean Energy Research Institute and the Hohhot Branch of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Mechanization Sciences Co., Ltd., also attended.

The event was deemed “very productive” by the group, as points of convergence for future collaborations and research projects were identified. During the session, aspects related to future technical regulations in the field of wind energy were also discussed, as it was mentioned that “some of the attendees from the Chinese delegation are members of the TC50 committee, dedicated to this at the national level.”

Additionally, UCLM professor and IER director Emilio Gómez Lázaro is currently the president of the CTN 221 “Wind Energy Generation Systems” standardization committee of the Spanish Association for Standardization (UNE). The secretariat of this committee corresponds to the Spanish Wind Energy Association, which represents more than 90% of the sector in Spain. This association includes promoters, wind turbine and component manufacturers, national and regional associations, organizations linked to the sector, lawyers, and financial and insurance entities, among others. The CTN 221 and TC50 committees aim to provide a basis for design, quality assurance, and technical aspects for certification.
