Sociología de la Comunicación (MEDIACOM) – Communication Sociology
Our main research line is to analyse the changes and the impact of mass media on the Castilian society. Its line of action is focused on two main areas:
- The structure of the media, assessing, classifying and evaluating the offer produced in the region –Castilla-La Mancha-;
- The production, distribution and consumption of content, investigating the new media and their aetiologies, new business models and their possibilities, the effects on the journalistic profession and, finally, the consequences on citizens.

Comunicación Pública: Poder, Derecho y Mensaje (COMPUBLIC) (Public Communication: Power, Law and Message)
The research team COMPUBLIC has as main objective the study of public communication. Topics of special interest are the relationship between the economic and political powers and the structure of the media, public policies and the rights of journalists and citizens and the performance of mass media in terms of transparency and good governance.
