NanoChemistry
The MSOC Nanochemistry Group has focused its research efforts on the functionalization and purification of carbon nanostructures using non-conventional techniques, obtaining results which show how scaling up the modification of carbon nanostructures is possible using green methodologies. Ball milling treatment and microwave irradiation in the absent of solvents have been the main techniques employed for the preparation of multifunctional derivatives that can serve as versatile synthons in materials science and biological applications.  Moreover, the incorporation of those nanostructures in three dimensional polymeric structures is being carried out as an innovative means for obtaining new stimuli-responsive materials as intelligent systems, which can be applied in a wide range of fields such as drug delivery or tissue engineering among others.

 Projects

The NanoChem group has wide experience in the financial obtention both internationally and nationally. To know more about the running and previous projects, visit our website.

 Research lines

The MSOC Nanochemistry Groupgroup has used non-conventional techniques such as microwaves and mechanochemical treatments for the modification of CNFs. Our research goes from the preparation of graphene to the functionalization of different carbon nanostructures by covalent and non-covalent approaches.  To know more about the running and previous research lines, visit our website.
